Dolls House Conversion Part 3

Hi there,
This is the finished showroom with sliding door leading to the lift

This is the workshop area. At the end of the benches is a serving hatch, this is so the general public can come in by the front door and buy parts for their vehicles, the red door to the right is where vehicles come in to be serviced

The lift has now been painted and is ready for use, the lift shaft extends beyond the roof as seen in the photo because the garage has to have a flat roof with a car park

This is the sliding door leading in to the workshop

This picture shows one room of the living quarters, plus the top of the stairs, this is how the public gain access to the showroom.

Dolls House Part 2

Hi there
The saga continues, this is the start of the sliding door into the car showroo

When my grandson first mentioned the garage idea, I foolishly told him of a garage I remembered as a young man, it had an outside lift up to the car showroom; you can probably guess his next words.
This was my first attempt, it did not work very well and I dismantled it.

My second attempt, an open plan lift worked very well. This view of it shows the lift cage at the bottom of the shaft. The hole in the wall is going to be the door into the workshop

This view shows the lift cage at the door to the showroom.

This is the car showroom nearly finished. Posters of cars have been fastened to the walls, and a doorway has been cut in the wall leading to the stairs. More to follow:>

Dolls House conversion Part 1

Hi there This is the start of a project for my youngest grandson
He wanted a dolls house coverted into part house/part garage
A friend of ours gave us a house which was no longer needed and i made a start.
This is the house with the front removed.

The third picture shows what the front of the house looked like

My first job was to fit two partitions into the house so that i could create a showroom
and a workshop.

Having done this my next job was to cut a hole in the end of the top floor room
to create a doorway (the reason for this will be explained later in this saga )
I then painted the room white as this was to be the garage showroom.

More to follow.

Can i take this oppotunity to say Thank You to all the kind and thoughtful people who have
written to Amber and myself during my treatment. It was much appreciated and mere
words can not fully express my feelings.
